I posted about this over on the Dangerous Things forum, but I wanted to share it here too. If you’re considering a BeUno implant, you might want to think twice about it.
So, here’s what happened: I received my BeUno implant, and I immediately noticed that the glass seal wasn’t quite right.

Ive worked with glass implants before, so i immediately saw there was an issue. I decided to run a quick test using UV reactive fluid and a vacuum chamber. After just one vacuum pull, the fluid started leaking through the seal. That’s a big red flag.

The BeUno implant uses a flame sealing method to close the glass casing, but it looks like the process isn’t perfect. If not dialed in right it can leave a hole in the seal, just as you can see on the images. Those gaps let fluids and whatever else in. And thats a huge problem when you’re talking about something you’re putting inside your body.
If bacteria or other contaminants get in that’s where nasty stuff can grow and cause infection or other health problems.

The bottom line is that this implant (at least the one I got) has some serious quality control issues. Flame sealing isn’t the most reliable method for getting a perfect seal.

Also their closed source approach is absolute nonsense. You have to link your dsruptive implant to your dsruptive account, and the only way to scan it is through their app while you’re logged in – With your account! no other account will work. There’s literally no other way to access it. This is a fucking huge problem when it comes to something you’re implanting in your own body. You should have full control over your implant, not some company that could lock you out or mess with your data.
If you’re curious about the app and want to poke around, here’s the APK.
And here is a closeup.
